Get Safe! Utah Avalanche Center Workshop

Ever wonder how the guys at TGR run their shoots in some of the most dangerous avalanche terrain in the world? Well, now you don’t have to wonder any more and you can also learn a few more tricks of the trade on November 1 at the The Utah Avalanche Center’s Snow and Avalanche Workshop.

The Workshop will be held at The Depot in The Gateway will feature presentations by local avalanche experts. It is geared for all backcountry users, no matter their avalanche skill level. Speakers will focus on avalanche mitigation, forecasting, snowpit evaluation, advancements in beacon technology and rescue techniques. In addition, attendees will experience a behind-the-scenes look at TGR Films’ avalanche safety program, presented by lead guide Jim Conway. At the end of the seminar, hosts will present an evening of dancing and fun with the band Fat Paw beginning at 5 p.m.

Seminar admission costs $25.00 and includes the evening party. Tickets to the fundraiser evening only cost $12 (must be 21 and over). Registration may be completed online at www.24tix.com.

* 3:00 p.m.-3:15 p.m. – Break
* 3:20 p.m.-4:05 p.m. Ian McCammon- Back Country decision making Tool kit
* 4:10 p.m.-5:00 p.m. – TGR- Conway- Method to the Madness: A behind the scenes glimpse into TGR’s snow safety program
