Over the past few months, our staff collected thoughts, tributes and memories from Sarah’s family, closest friends and contemporaries and created a Remembrance Issue in her memory. Within its 52 pages are 16 tributes; quotes from fellow skiers, sports icons and Sarah’s friends; and many photos highlighting her extraordinary skiing career.
Today, the first copies of a limited edition batch of the Remembrance Issue arrived at the office. Only a handful of these editions were printed and they will be given to Sarah’s loved ones and to our friends in the industry.
The Remembrance Issue will be available to everyone in print in our October, 2012 issue, which ships to subscribers on August 28. Additionally, a digital edition of the issue is now available for download: iTunes Newsstand and PDF version.
In regards to the release of this special edition, Managing Editor Shay Williams puts it best in his introduction: “In what little way we can, we pay reverence to you, Sarah. Thank you for all you’ve given us.” The intro can be read in full at Freeskier.com/sarah.
