FREESKIER Magazine Names Nate Abbott Senior Editor
Press Release: May 25, 2011 — BOULDER, CO — FREESKIER magazine is pleased to appoint Nate Abbott to the position of Senior Editor, effective immediately.
Abbott brings to the staff more than 15 years of photography and media experience, and is widely regarded as one of the most esteemed photographers and artists in the industry. In his new post, Abbott will contribute photos, write and edit copy, and provide photographic and editorial directive.
“Nate Abbott has been a senior photographer for FREESKIER for years,” says Matt Harvey, editor of FREESKIER magazine. “This marks the beginnings of a tighter relationship where Nate will not only contribute photos, but also will play a significant role in the conceptualization and execution of the magazineʼs overall editorial product. Weʼre honored to have him join the team.”

Abbottʼs photos have graced the pages and covers of nearly every ski magazine in the world, and his work has also appeared in powerhouses like ESPN and The New York Times. The Colorado native has deep roots in the ski industry. At Freeze magazine, Abbott worked his way up from intern to managing editor. His authentic rapport with todayʼs top skiers allows Abbott an insiderʼs perspective that heʼs sure to share in the pages of FREESKIER.
“My passions in life are skiing, creativity, storytelling and photography,” says Abbott. “I look forward to guiding the magazine in a way that capitalizes on the deep variety of styles, personalities and interests within our sport.
