This Saturday, August 11, the FREESKIER squad rolled up to the Rocky Mountain Underground (RMU) Tavern on Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado, to host a summertime celebration that turned out to be one for the record books. With live music from local funk quartet the Trevor Jones Band starting promptly at 7 p.m. the outdoor patio dancefloor stayed movin’ and groovin’ late into the evening, commemorating another one of those timeless midsummer nights.
FREESKIER’s Summer Adventure Series is a tribute to every skier’s off-season: those warmer months when our focus shifts to new activities like rock climbing, fly fishing, mountain biking, kayaking and plenty more. In summer, each day brings with it the opportunity to revel in the glory of a favorite pastime, or better yet, step out of the comfort zone and try something entirely different. We highlighted a few of our favorite warm-weather bucket list items our four-part digital feature, dubbed the Summer Adventure Series, which you can learn more about via the links below.
CHAPTER ONE — Fishing on the Fryingpan
CHAPTER TWO — Climbing in Eldorado Canyon
CHAPTER THREE — Kayaking the Arkansas River
CHAPTER FOUR — Mountain Biking the Western Slope
The Summer Adventure Series Party drew Breckenridge locals and passersby, alike, and was hosted in Rocky Mountain Underground’s unique brick and mortar storefront—part ski retail shop, part bar. Here, patrons are able to chat with RMU staff and learn about the company’s range of ski and outdoor equipment, just relax and enjoy a drink or do both at the same time. RMU’s unique shop, paired with its outdoor patio and the undeniably funky tunes of the Trevor Jones Band, made choosing a location for our Summer Adventure Series Party a no-brainer.
