Fourth annual Beartooth Summer Session kicks off June 5

Fourth annual Beartooth Summer Session kicks off June 5

The fourth annual Beartooth Summer Session takes place June 5-8 at the Beartooth Basin Ski Area near Red Lodge, Montana. The summer ski session offers almost 1,000 vertical feet of steep terrain including chutes, cliffs and big ol’ cornice hits, along with a top notch terrain park. Lift tickets cost a mere $40 and ON3P Skis will be at the session doing a public demo. And, if all that wasn’t enough, the region has had one of its best snow years in recent memory.

“It’s the most snow we have seen in the last decade,” says Beartooth Basin Operations Manager, Austin Hart.

Booster Strap will also be in attendance, and will host a big mountain slopestyle competition on Saturday, June 7, in which athletes will compete in both the big mountain and slopestyle venues.

From Beartooth Basin Ski Area:

It’s that time of year again – time to grab the sunscreen, fishing and camping gear, load up the car with your buddies, and head out to Montana to go…skiing? That’s right, the Fourth Annual Beartooth Summer Session is back and better than ever. Beartooth Basin Ski Area plays host to North America’s premier public ski session, June 5th-8th, on Beartooth Pass, 25 miles south of Red Lodge, Montana.

Just one of two lift accessed summer ski areas in the US, Beartooth Basin features nearly 1,000 vertical feet of terrain peppered with cliffs, chutes, and cornice drops. Add an expertly crafted park, shuttle-accessible backcountry, and the steepest summer skiing in North America and you have the Beartooth Summer Session – a four day event providing steep, lift served skiing to the masses in one of the most beautiful and rugged parts of the country. With $40 discounted lift tickets and ON3P Skis in attendance to put on a free public demo, there is no better place to be.

We are proud to announce a three year partnership between Booster Strap and Beartooth Summer Session. The Booster Strap Big Mountain Slopestyle goes down Saturday, June 7th with athletes showcasing their skills in a venue featuring both big mountain and park. Following the contest is the Lagunitas Brewing After Party in Red Lodge for those who are 21+. After party venue is TBA.

The Beartooth Summer Session is teaming up with Beartooth Mountain Guides to organize a 3,000 vertical foot road lap descent from the ski area with shuttle service back to the lifts.

“It’s the most snow we have seen in the last decade” says Beartooth Basin Operations Manager, Austin Hart.
