Sunny Tignes. Sunny, sunny, sunny. The folks at SPT have done it once again, cutting a beautiful halfpipe (only 20-ft) in the scenic landscape of Tignes Val Claret. Today marked the first day of practice for all the pipe skiers (and snowboarders).

Even with a short 2-hr practice, the guys and girls were BOOSTING, clearly getting used to the pipe quickly. Some doubles were thrown. Some 900s were let loose. Fun was had, hoots and hollers were heard. If today was an indicator for the rest of the week, then tomorrow’s qualifiers and Wednesday’s finals will be the show of the year. Murmurs were heard that the Superpipe here was even better than Aspen’s for X Games in January.

Only time will tell of the carnage that awaits the Tignes halfpipe this week for European X Games.
