Unfortunately, our luck from yesterday just got worse, as the the snow, wind and fog picked up today here in Laax. After a couple training runs, a lot of waiting and a lot of deliberating, the event was called off, due to adverse weather conditions. This marks the first time that both Slopestyle and Halfpipe were effectively cancelled here at the Euro Open, making for big time frowns from everyone attending. In a very gentlemanly move, the event announced it would take 50% of the overall Halfpipe prize purse and distribute it to the 60-odd competitors today. Kudos. So, this sadly marks the end of the 2010 European Freeski Open by Swatch. The competition crowd boldly move forward to a great party tonight and Tignes for European X Games tomorrow.
