With early season pow totals of 124″, it’d be easy to assume Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s lift lines are brutal, but you’d be wrong. Thanks to a reservation system that started during Covid, the days of waiting in long lines are a thing of the past. Ikon and Mountain Collective pass holders are required to reserve a ski day before they can get on snow. Alongside the limited number of daily pass holder reservations, lift tickets are also limited, which means fewer people on the mountain, especially when a good storm rolls in. Trust us, you can feel the difference. It’s like taking a step back to the ’90s before skiing became mainstream. You can lap more runs and grab lunch without waiting in a painfully long queue.
But it isn’t just fewer lift lines that make Jackson an attractive destination this time of year, it’s the amount of skiable terrain that’s already open. As of today, the Aerial Tram is officially open, meaning every major lift is spinning! Just a little over a week out from Christmas, and you can ski all 4,139 feet of the mountain. That’s hard to beat. If you’re looking to lock in some turns before the holidays, season passholders from ANY resort can take advantage of the Golden Ticket and get Jackson lift tickets for 50% off now through Dec. 20.
Jackson isn’t messing around when it comes to making the ski experience more enjoyable. At their Ski in Jeans event earlier this month, they sold out of lift tickets and set a world record for the most people skiing in jeans (3,114 denim-clad skiers, to be specific). They could’ve easily sold more tickets and hit a bigger record, but instead prioritized the guest experience and limited capacity. These ticket restrictions make it so you can count on a consistently enjoyable experience.
December 27-31 are already sold out, so don’t twiddle your thumbs and lock in your reservations now.
