Loveland Ski Area is offering free cat-accessed skiing on the Continental Divide this season on their Ridge Cat. Enjoy 360° views from the comfort of the 18-seater snowcat as you climb up the ridge up to the Gate 4 north entrance. The complimentary service will be offered on a first come, first serve basis from 10am-2:30pm once snow conditions permit it to open.

To access the snowcat, head up Lift 9 and traverse right (north) off the chair to follow until you’re just beyond Gate 1N to reach the pick up point. Season pass holders are good to go with their pass as is, while daily ticket or business ticket holders will need to make a quick pit stock at the Basin Ticket Office to sign a waiver and receive a free Ridge Cat Pass. We advise to keep that pass in your wallet or in a secure pocket, as a lost card will require a $25 replacement fee.

From the Ridge Cat’s drop off point, skiers can access Field of Dreams, Velvet hammer, Tickler, 13,010 and Marmot when conditions permit (map above). While these areas are difficult to expert level terrain, there is an option to back down the Ridge Cat’s route. However, it is imperative to communicate with the driver if that is anyone in your party’s intention and communicate whether they intend to ski in front or behind the machine for the descent.

Located just over an hour from Denver at the mouth of the Eisenhower Tunnel, Loveland Ski Area offers 1,800 acres of skiable terrain that the whole crew can enjoy. Spend less time in I-70 ski traffic and more time on the hill the season.
