It’s been a grand start to winter 2025 for Australia. Hotham Alpine Resort has seen significant storms already, and while the mountain only has half of its 14 total lifts open, things are looking great considering we’re not even close to peak season. Most of the Southern Hemisphere usually sees maximum snow totals around late July and early August, which means Hotham is ahead of schedule.
Another storm recently hit the Aussie mountain oasis, this time dropping nearly 20 cm and leaving the mountain in prime condition. While winds have since scoured certain areas, the majority of the snow gum-filled terrain was skiing well. At least that’s what we heard from our boots on the ground—photographer Dylan Robinson and skier Drew Jolowicz.
