Dew Tour – Men’s Superpipe Open Qualifier

Dew Tour – Men’s Superpipe Open Qualifier

Amidst varying light conditions and occasionally high winds, the Superpipe Qualifier today at Breckenridge was a showcase of talent as some of skiing’s rising pipe stars laid it down as part of the Dew Tour. While the customary Breckenridge wind slowed the event at times, athletes didn’t let it bother them as kids like 16 year old Walter Wood, NZ’s Byron Wells, and other’s laid down runs like the weather was bluebird. Talent was so high that even 12 year old Mitch Gilman from Whitefish, MT threw a 900 with little effort. As always, John Symms’ running commentary kept everyone in good spirits on a less than perfect day, and the event wrapped up with the following 15 skiers advancing on to prelims:

(in overall point order)
1 – Matt Philippi
2 – Byron Wells
3 – David Wise
4 – Ratchel Jean-Laurent
5 – Walter Wood
6 – Matt Margetts
7 – Andre Simonpietri
8 – Jack Sullan
9 – John Strenio
10 – Tyler Peterson
11 – Thomas Krief
12 – Kyle Smaine
13 – Colby Albino
14 – Rob Heule
15 – Miles Honens
