The air was brisk and the sun was shining for Copper Mountain Resort’s opening day–setting the tone for what is looking to be an incredible season ahead. Optimal early-season conditions have blessed the Front Range of Colorado with copious amounts of snow and temperatures low enough for consistent snow-making, and let me tell you, it shows.
For the first time in the resort’s history, Copper Mountain was able to open up all three villages–East, Center and West–to the public for opening day. Before the lifts even started running this morning, crowds gathered in line, braved the cold with warm enthusiasm and geared up for an amazing day of skiing.
Across the resort’s tenure, skiers had access to over 275 acres of terrain–the most Copper has been able to open this early in the season in over a decade. Hoots and hollers could be heard from top to bottom and there wasn’t a face on the mountain that wasn’t smiling. If today is any indication of how the rest of the ski season will go, we’re in for a real treat, friends.
