Colorado Powder Forecast: Head South

Colorado Powder Forecast for week of Feb. 17

    HIGHLIGHTS

  • Snowing Thu in central/northern mtns
  • Weekend storm will focus on San Juans
  • Big powder day on Sunday in the south!

Thursday's storm is doing a number on the central and northern mountains where reports of 5-10" are trickling in by midday. A heavy band of snow setup over the area and is yielding surprisingly high totals. That's the type of surprise I like.

Friday will be a day of transition with some sun, but the next storm will quickly approach on Friday night and slam into the southern San Juan mountains on Saturday.

Very heavy snow will fall on Saturday and Saturday night around Purgatory, Silverton, and Wolf Creek, so Saturday will be the storm-skiing day and Sunday morning will be the powder day. While snow will fall across the rest of the state on Sunday, the best chance to get in the white room will be down south.

Stay tuned to www.ColoradoPowderForecast.com for the details as the weekend storm rolls in.
