This February 23-25, 2018, the 12th annual Coldsmoke Powder Festival converges once again on Whitewater Ski Resort in the heart of the Kootenay Mountains.
Featuring big-mountain competitions for all ages, backcountry and resort-based ski clinics, brand-name and local vendors offering demos and deals, costume and dance contests for those feeling extra silly, “Backcountry Olympics” and live music all through the weekend, the Coldsmoke Powder Festival is reason to celebrate life in the mountains and our collective love of deep, powder snow.
As explained by the folks at Whitewater, “the Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival was originally created to provide a grass-roots gathering where mountain enthusiasts of all levels could celebrate Kootenay mountain culture and general stoke for all forms of powder play. We still hold true to this mission, and it is this very basic tenant that is the backbone of the success of this amazing three-day event.”
