Cody Cirillo has been on FREESKIER’s radar for a long time. The man might be one of the most well-versed individuals in the ski industry. He’s biked thousands of miles for turns, multiple times. He helps steer the ship at Faction Skis as the brand’s Creative Director. And before all that, he spent time as a Slopestyle skier on the Dew Tour and World Cup circuit. His style is palpable and distinctly unique.
This applies to his many endeavors, even the high-alpine missions. These days, you’ll often find Cirillo around his home in Telluride, pushing for summits around 14,000 feet above sea level. We recently saw a video of him bombing down a steep, filled-in couloir this spring. It was more than enough to grab our attention, thanks to the composure and fluidity of his riding. Needless to say, we had to ask for the details.
Check out the line in question below.
“The forecast called for rainstorms, but it was my last day in France, so we went anyway,” Cirillo told us. “We started in trail runners and made our way deep into the heart of the Belledonne, a [mountain] range located just outside of Grenoble.”
“A wind-scoured approach and incoming dark clouds had us feeling uneasy, but when we topped out on the backside and peeked down the couloir, our mouths dropped– an endless powdery tube awaited. An adventure well worth it. And it never rained.”
