CLIF just launched their Meet The Moment campaign, and now's your chance to get involved. The project calls attention to the special moments we have while we're out doing the things we love:
Be it a breathtaking sight, a connection with the people around you, an instant of pure, utter focus before dropping into your halfpipe run at the X Games, or maybe the split second when you're ready to give up, yet choose to persevere; these are not occasions that we plan for, but rather junctures that come about of a natural order. These are stages in life when time stands still.
I know I've had my fair share of "moments," and I hope everyone reading has also been fortunate enough to have had similar experiences. For those of you who have, CLIF would like to hear from you.
For every person that submits their own Moment to MeetTheMoment.com, CLIF will donate $5 to one of five non-profit projects, each dedicated to preserving beaches, slopes, trails and mountains. The contribution goes to the organization of your choosing; you can select either Leave No Trace, International Mountain Biking Association, Surfrider Foundation, Access Fund, or Winter Wildlands Alliance.
To further support these conservation efforts, CLIF will double its contribution to each non-profit if 10,000 Moments are submitted by July 31.
Oh, one more thing that I suppose might interest you: CLIF will award three people who upload the most inspirational and creative Moments by July 31 an opportunity to pursue their dream adventure. The winners will each select a trip of their choice, with a maximum value of $12,000. Been dreaming of skiing in the Swiss Alps? Or maybe South America?
This venture is part of a larger initiative centering around CLIF's drive to Protect the Places We Play. The more people that submit stories, the more money will be raised in the name of preservation. It's a great chance for you to inspire others with your tales, and simultaneously to bring about positive change.
