Camp of Champs was shining pretty under perfectly cloudless British Columbian skies yesterday and coaches and campers were enjoying it to the fullest with shirts off, sunscreen on and tricks galore. Bobby Brown even hosted a signature session on the big jump in the afternoon, showing all the campers what it looks like to execute smooth tricks on big hits.
Also in attendance on the glacier for 4FRNT week were new-arrival Luke VanValin, Matt Sterbenz, Matt Margetts, Joe Schuster, Banks Gilberti, Will Berman, Sean Pettit, Colby Ward and campers of all nationalities.
The Camp of Champs lane, as always, is perfectly groomed with all sorts of creative features including a huge gap jump, a wind-lip, the O’Neill bag jump, wall rides and rails and boxes sporadically placed throughout the lane. Coaches and campers spent most of the day hitting the two-jump medium line learning tricks on the slushy snow.
Long-time camper Charles from Quebec landed his first three with tips from Marg who gave him some loving after with a big hug and pointers on how to take it to five.
Luke was out on the hill throwing rodeos with Kristi Leskinen and getting on the horn stoking out the campers for the day under the 4FRNT tent.
Nothing beats a hot day on the glacier with some of the best features and coaches going. Be sure to check out campofchampions.com for more updates throughout the summer.
