Colorado has one of the most dangerous snowpacks in North America and typically accounts for one third of all avalanche fatalities in the US. The purpose of the CAIC, Colorado Avalanche Information Center, is to minimize the economic and human impact of snow avalanches on the recreation, tourism, and commerce industries. They succeed in achieving their purpose through a dual mission of forecasting and public education. As more and more people venture into the backcountry, it is imperative that they continue to have this resource available. The CAIC provides valuable information for both recreational users and professionals venturing into the backcountry. The center operates on a limited budget and needs your support in order to continue this important work,
The friends of CAIC are proud to host the second annual CAIC benefit bash on November 14 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. They would like to invite you to support their efforts to educate and inform Coloradans about avalanche conditions and snow safety concerns. Due to more budget cuts, this year’s event is crucial. Their target issue is to help ease the financial impact from the loss of funding this year, in turn helping the CAIC to continue to provide an incredibly valuable service to backcountry enthusiasts.
The Friends of the CAIC invite you to the 2nd Annual CAIC Benefit Bash to help support the CAIC in their efforts. The evening will be filled with live music, tasty food, incredible beer, and great people. They will be hosting a silent auction, while throwing door prizes to the crowd.
If you think avalanche forecasting, education, and awareness is important in Colorado, then this party is for you. Tickets include one door prize ticket, three beverage tickets, dinner and entertainment from Rooster Rocket. Support a good cause and one that can benefit all of us snow enthusiasts!
If you can’t make it to the benefit, please support with a donation!
