Boombotix gives you wireless audio in the palm of your hand with the Boombot2

There are a fair amount of options out there for mobile audio these days, but nothing is quite like the Boombot2 by Boombotix. This creature of the audio world has Japanese-inspired styling and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet powerful enough to fuel your next impromptu dance party.

purple_front_large_0.jpgThe pocket-sized speaker delivers a surprising amount of bass through a 50mm driver while a separate tweeter blends in the higher-end tones for a great sound. Designed with an active lifestyle in mind, you can use the clip on the back to attach the speaker to your belt, pocket, backpack, cruiser bike, dog or whatever you want (probably not your dog though). You can feel how solid the housing is when you hold it in your hand. This thing is built to withstand the elements. The water-resistant labeling is totally legit, too. We’ve used the Boombot2 extensively on the ski hill and poolside, and it holds strong against direct splashes of water, and also moisture buildup. Regardless, Boombotix backs the Boombot2 with a one year warranty “no matter what” happens.

The units are available in a variety of color schemes ranging from subdued to outrageous, and some limited editions are available, too. Thus, you’re sure to find something that fits your personality. Included is a USB-to-Mini-USB cord for charging (a full charge will take you an hour+, and a full battery will fuel your tunes for 6-7 hours—slightly less if you’re in an ultra cold environment) and a two and a half foot, dual retractable input cord that you can lock at four different lengths.

If you prefer to go wireless you can use the Bluetooth capacity to pair it to your smartphone or other media player in a few easy steps. As an added bonus, when you connect the Boombot to a device using Bluetooth, the 1/8” input automatically switches to an output, allowing you to hook up a second Boombot or other speaker system. Whether you’re at the beach or cruising through the terrain park, this allows you to amplify your tunes.

The Boombot2 starts at $69.99 and is available on the Boombotix website along with customizable speaker grills and other accessories. Be on the lookout for new designs like the Topo Yellow shell—bring the mountains with you wherever you go.
