WHISTLER, BC — Press Release — February 2, 2012 — Following on the popularity and feedback from last spring’s Whistler Outdoor Photography Workshop and the previous fall seminars Blake Jorgenson will offer a spring workshop for 2012 on June 22 – 26.
“The excitement of outdoor photography is that you get up, venture out into the unknown, visualize, communicate, and capture something extraordinary that you might never see, ever again,” says Blake Jorgenson, professional photographer. “Documenting an amazing visual experience and sharing it with others is the main focus. Whether sharing it though magazine, print or online media, or just sharing with your friends; capturing adventure and communicating those moments through photography are an amazing extension to the experience of being in the outdoors.”
Jorgenson will instruct alongside pro photographers Paul Morrison, Scott Serfas, Eric Berger, and Jordan Manley for the intensive and practical four-day seminar.
The Whistler Outdoor Photography Workshops focus on the process from beginning to end of documenting and exploring the outdoors and capturing amazing outdoor visuals. The day course works on being out in the field learning how to manage, direct, and communicate with action sports subjects to make the photographer’s vision come to life in all types of conditions, regardless of technical ability. The days end with in-classroom edits, review, hands-on software instruction and image processing. Nightly seminars will also be offered this session that can be attended in conjunction with the full course or on their own.
Whistler is the perfect location to experience the unpredictability of the elements, action from some of the world's best mountain sport athletes, and the stunning beauty of the Coastal Mountains. Whistler Outdoor Photography Workshops will continue each season with new instructors, new industry guests, and new formats.
