Norwegian freestyler Birk Ruud defended his X Games Norway 2018 ski big air gold in the only ski competition of the day on Saturday. Proving to be a podium threat against an incredibly stacked field, Ruud took home the gold with a right double cork 1620 with two different grabs and a switch left triple cork, earning him the winning combined score of 89.00.
Canadian Alex Beaulieu-Merchand stomped a switch right triple cork and a switch left triple cork with a double and octo-grab, earning him a score of 87.00 and the silver medal. British sensation James Woods landed a left 1620 and a switch right triple cork with an octo-grab earning him a score of 82.00 and the bronze medal.
