The mountain biking scene at ski resorts keeps getting better each summer. What started as a handful of pioneering parks has exploded into a nationwide network of lift-served trails that span beginner-friendly flow trails and pump tracks to downhill racing venues. Whether you’re hunting berms in Colorado, chasing loam in Vermont, or riding high-alpine singletrack in the Sierras, summer is here and it’s time to swap out the gear littering your hatchback, no more excuses.

We dug into the press releases, updated trail maps, opening dates, and what’s new for 2025 to bring you the details on the best lift-access mountain biking across the country, including some hidden gems that are worth the detour.


Winter Park Resort – Trestle Bike Park – CO

Opening 06/13/2025: 40+ Trails, 45+ Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Zephyr Express, Gemini Express

New for 2025: Rebuilt sections of Rainmaker and new wood features on Banana Peel

Winter Park is home to Trestle Bike Park, widely considered Colorado’s most comprehensive downhill park and one of the early pioneers of resort-based bike parks. Major summer events like the Trestle Gravity Series and many rotating events continue to cement this as a true national gravity destination. With more than 45 miles of gravity-fed terrain, the park serves everyone from jump line enthusiasts to technical trail seekers. Aspen Snowmass – Snowmass Bike Park – CO

Opening 06/21/2025: 25+ Trails, ~25 Total Trail Miles

Snowmass Bike Park is one of only 7 IMBA Gold-Level Ride Centers in the world. The designation is awarded to parks with extensive trail coverage, a great diversity of trails for all experience levels, and extremely talented trail builders. Simply put, this is one of the best bike park operations in the world with perfectly manicured jumps and berms enabling all experience levels to push their limits. The bike park itself is huge, but that doesn’t tell the whole story because with a little pedaling, you can find yourself deep into the expansive Roaring Fork Valley with 350+ miles of singletrack.


Steamboat Resort – Steamboat Bike Park – CO

Open as of 06/16/2025: ~20 Trails, ~24 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Steamboat Gondola

New for 2025: Rebuilt Rustler’s Ridge and expanded beginner area

Nicknamed Bike Town USA, Steamboat is cyclist heaven with a hundred miles of singletrack and bike paths snaking through and around this beautiful mountain town. Sitting at the center of all this singletrack is Steamboat Bike Park, which features a 2,200-foot vertical drop and perfectly manicured berms and jumps. Imagine riding full gas down rock gardens, pulling Gs on berms, and whipping off jumps, all while switching between riding in dense pine forest and dense aspen groves. What more could you want?


Keystone Resort – Keystone Bike Park – CO

Opening 06/19/2025*: ~30 Trails, ~34 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Peru Express

New for 2025: Upgrades to beginner zones and resurfacing on Paid in Full

Keystone Bike Park offers technical downhill terrain with close proximity to Denver. This resort caters their rider experience to those who love large tabletops and chunky rock gardens. If you are just getting your singletrack legs, their newly upgraded beginner zone will provide mellower trails for learning how to take berms at speed and building all-around confidence. With its close proximity to Denver, this can easily be done as a day trip, so this park is a go-to for rowdy weekend warriors.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort – Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park – CO

Since 2009, the Crested Butte Bike Park has been providing high-alpine technical mountain biking without the hassle of destroying yourself on chunky climbs. The park is set on the edge of the Gunnison National Forest and features some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado. The park is only just a few minutes from the charming town of Crested Butte, which embodies everything you would want out of a mountain town. If you get a hankering for some high heart rate pedaling, the surrounding Gunnison Valley features expansive singletrack to explore.


Deer Valley Resort – Deer Valley Bike Park – UT

Opening 06/20/2025: 20+ Trails, 70+ Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Silver Lake Express, Homestake

New for 2025: Upper mountain closed for lift construction; lower trails and Gravity Logic zones remain open

Deer Valley’s lift-served trail system is world-class, with progressive flow tracks, jump lines and features, and a well-maintained variety of trails. The current park is built and maintained by Gravity Logic, a world-class bike park builder that has been a part of crafting some of the most well-known trails and parks around the world. The mountain bike heritage of this place goes back to the 1990s, making Deer Valley one of the oldest lift-served parks in the world.


Mammoth Mountain – Mammoth Bike Park – CA

Open as of 06/16/2025: 80+ Trails, 80+ Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Panorama Gondola, Discovery Chair

New for 2025: Improved blue trail network and refreshed berms

Believe it or not, Mammoth just finished their ski season, and just like that, this massive bike park is up and running for summer. Mammoth is California’s largest bike park, featuring massive high-alpine runs, ladder bridges and iconic pumice berms. The high-alpine nature of this resort creates a unique experience with many runs not featuring dense tree cover, which is honestly very different from most places in the country. After a long day of mountain biking, we highly recommend checking out Devils Postpile because that place is crazy cool.


Northstar – Northstar California Mountain Bike Park – CA

Opening 07/04/2025: ~20 Trails, ~30 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Big Springs Gondola, Vista Express

New for 2025: Livewire returns and drainage work on Gypsy

The Northstar Bike Park is located just a few miles from the shores of Lake Tahoe and features a great balance between manicured jump lines and raw, rocky natural terrain. If you are a rider who appreciates big boulders and chunky rock gardens that have been left relatively untouched from how Mother Nature sculpted them, then this is your place. It’s also important to note that this bike park is catered to intermediate and advanced riders, with a smaller number of trails for beginner riders.


Mount Snow – Mount Snow Bike Park – VT

Open Early or Mid July: 15+ Trails, ~12 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Canyon Express

New for 2025: Reopened downhill tech trail and improved signage

Mount Snow’s bike park in southern Vermont has something for everyone with an emphasis on creating great terrain for all levels of bikers. On the more beginner end of the spectrum is the 2.5-mile completely downhill run, perfect for those who are building confidence and working on downhill endurance. On the other end of the spectrum is Bullwhip, a jump playground where you can throw whips, horizontals and nasty one-footers.


Highland Mountain – Highland Mountain Bike Park – NH

Open as of 06/16/2025: 30+ Trails, 30+ Total Trail Miles

New for 2025: Expanded summer camp programs and trail enhancements

Highland Mountain Bike Park is built entirely for downhill mountain bikers. You heard that right, no snow sports here. The 600 feet of vertical is easily lappable whether you’re ripping flowy singletrack or hitting the jump line. When conditions are less than ideal, head over to their indoor 9,100-square-foot training facility, complete with huge foam pits and resin ramps where you can safely practice trick progression before bringing it to dirt. The park is only 90 minutes from Boston, making it a great option for city folk trying to escape the noise.


Big Sky Resort – Big Sky Bike Park – MT

New for 2025: Trail maintenance on Otter Slide and expanded beginner zone

Big Sky is a serious summer player now, with long descents, breathtaking alpine scenery, and consistent lift access. One of the most underrated big-mountain bike destinations in the West and really one of the top cycling destinations for road and gravel as well.


Tamarack Resort – Tamarack Bike Park – ID

Open as of 06/16/2025: ~25 Trails, ~20 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Tamarack Express

New for 2025: New Enduro style trails and beginner loop

Tamarack is growing fast and delivers great terrain at a mellow resort. There’s something for every level, and trail design keeps improving. This year, they unveiled a sweet new jump park and a pump track. This park is located in Donnelly, Idaho, which means beautiful views and short lift lines, so you can mob the epic resort non-stop.


Killington Resort – Killington Bike Park

Open as of 06/16/2025: 30+ Trails, 30+ Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Snowshed Express, K-1 Gondola

New for 2025: New green trail at Snowshed and rework of Step It Up

Killington is one of the best up-and-coming bike parks in the nation, and it’s located on the East Coast. Dubbed the Beast of the East for its sheer size, Killington Bike Park has taken a strict progression approach to its mountain, enabling riders to slowly grow into harder trails and features. The Beast’s strategy has helped them become beloved by the local community and downhill mountain bike community alike.


Whistler Blackcomb – Whistler Mountain Bike Park BC

Opening 5/16/2025: ~120 Trails, ~50 Total Trail Miles

Lift Access: Fitzsimmons Express

Whistler Mountain Bike Park is one of the most prestigious bike parks in the world thanks to its huge size, incredible dirt and immaculate trail design from Gravity Logic. Some believe that Whistler is the home to modern flow trials, which feature massive table and gap jumps. The most famous flow trail at the park is A-line, an expert trail with provides huge airs and massive berms. If jumps aren’t your thing, Whistler also has a trail called “Top of the World” that starts at the very top of the mountain, enabling riders to transition from high alpine terrain into the dense forests of down below.
