Aspen gets pounded with over 30 inches!

They say good things happen to those who wait. Locals and guests throughout town are a shouting a thanks to the snow gods as Aspen/Snowmass received a much awaited 30 inches of snow over the weekend.

Aspen Skiing Company’s Vice President of Mountain Operations, Rich Burkley, said: “This storm came through fast and furious. Aspen Mountain received 26 inches of snow from this storm cycle and Snowmass received 30 inches. Coupled with the low temperatures that are so great for snowmaking, we are well on our way to having a wonderful holiday season and an incredible rest of the winter season.”

The snow is a welcome sign to locals who have patiently been waiting. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass opened on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22. Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will open on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.

With Aspen/Snowmass receiving over three feet of snow in the last week, now is the time to book lodging. Last-minute lodging specials start as low as $89 per night through Stay Aspen Snowmass. For more information call 888/649-5982 or visit https://www.stayaspensnowmass.com.
