Arizona Snowbowl is about to pull off a record-breaking season. The ski area has announced it will be continuing operations during the coming weekends, extending the season until June 1. At 185 days, this is now the longest ski season in the resort’s 87-year history.

“We’re thrilled to announce the 2024/25 season has set a new record for the most skiable days in Arizona Snowbowl’s 87-year history,” Arizona Snowbowl Marketing Manager Angie Grubb told FREESKIER. “Thanks to our dedicated team, an early November opening and strategic investments in snowmaking, we’ve delivered our longest season ever, giving people the freedom to ski.”

Coverage at Snowbowl has been stellar for May

Located just north of Flagstaff, Snowbowl is a gem of southwestern skiing in the U.S. Taos often gets much of the attention when it comes to riding in this neck of the woods, and that’s valid, seeing as Taos boasts 3,281 vertical feet and reaches a staggering summit elevation of 12,481 feet.

While Snowbowl doesn’t have the same elevation stats, the resort still maintains an impressive 2,600 vertical feet, with quite a bit more terrain accessible to those with the knowledge and hunger to roam beyond the resort and up the looming Mount Humphreys and Mount Agassiz.

The resort typically stays open into May, but this year, conditions have been extremely favorable, allowing operations to continue later than year’s past. A cold spring and several storms earlier in the month gave mountain ops the confidence they needed to keep spinning lifts.

Tickets start at just $19, and with live music and good weather on deck for the remainder of the season, this is the perfect time to join in on history if you’re in the area!

Arizona Snowbowl 24/25 Remaining Operations:

Friday through Monday, May 23–26 (Memorial Day weekend)

Saturday and Sunday, May 31–June 1

The Arizona Gondola will operate from 10 am to 4 pm; no beginner terrain will be available.
