Despite near whiteout blizzard conditions, closed highways and overturned cars we made it up to “A-Bay” for opening day. This year the day was twice as nice with Arapahoe Basin unveiling a new high-speed quad chair. And as if that’s not enough of a reason to celebrate, Mother Nature did her part by adding 4-6 inches of white gold. Break out the big-ass scissors.
Once the ribbon was cut the crowd anxiously awaiting the opening bell started hooting and hollering. High fives were being passed around and the stoke factor was through the roof. There’s noting quite like this moment of the ski season.
We hooked up with Summit County locs Ahmet Dadali, Will Berman, Liam Downey and asked Mr. Junction 133 himself (aka Duncan Lake) to document the day. Shenanigans ensued. Watch the edit.
