AltaSnowbird to offer new promotion for 2013/14 ski season called the “Boarding Pass”

AltaSnowbird is offering a new, exciting promotion for the upcoming 2013/14 ski season, the “Boarding Pass.” Out-of-state visitors can receive half-price lift tickets within 24 hours of their arrival at Salt Lake International Airport.

“Alta is excited to be working with our neighbors at Snowbird in this effort,” said Onno Wieringa, President and General Manager of Alta. “Our intent is to introduce skiers to the vast and varied terrain we share in AltaSnowbird’s 4,700 acres.”

Alta Ski Area is set to open on November 22, while Snowbird will open on November 20.

Press Release, AltaSnowbird, Utah:

One of the world’s premier ski destinations, AltaSnowbird, is offering out-of-state visitors half-price lift tickets within 24 hours of arrival at Salt Lake International Airport. Named the “Boarding Pass,” this offer creates an incentive for destination skiers to experience The Greatest Snow on Earth ™ within the same day as arriving in Utah.

“Alta is excited to be working with our neighbors at Snowbird in this effort,” said Onno Wieringa, President and General Manager of Alta. “Our intent is to introduce skiers to the vast and varied terrain we share in AltaSnowbird’s 4,700 acres.”

“AltaSnowbird is one of the most accessible ski destinations in the world, and we hope the Boarding Pass encourages guests to hop on a flight to Salt Lake and be skiing that same day,” said Bob Bonar, President of Snowbird.

Located 29 miles, or a 40-minute drive, from the Salt Lake International Airport, AltaSnowbird is the nearest resort to the Salt Lake airport. Averaging more than 500 inches of snowfall each season, AltaSnowbird consistently offers some of the best skiing in the world.

To take advantage of the offer, skiers must book a flight to Salt Lake City, then register at www.alta.com/boardingpass orwww.snowbird.com/boardingpass, and bring their printed boarding passes (electronic boarding passes will not be accepted) and photo ID to any ticket window at Alta or Snowbird within 24 hours of arrival at Salt Lake International Airport.

This offer is valid Monday through Friday during the 2013/14 winter season. Airport transfer is not included.

Snowboarders are not allowed to ride at Alta, but they may purchase the discount ticket and use it at Snowbird only, and still save $39.50 on an adult all-day Snowbird ticket.
