Eight days of ski testing, three flip cup tournaments, seven bottles of champagne, countless shots of Fireball and more than a few sunburns later, part two of our three part ski test is complete.
When we arrived Sunday morning to fresh snow, there was no question that #FreeskierFest was on. Powder skis were brought out and promptly shredded and rated. Hot laps were the M.O. and our testers were hungry for face shots.
On Monday, after another long day of picking off leftover powder pockets, we congregated at Aspen Brewing Company to christen the inaugural Freeskier world flip cup tournament with its first beer soaked bracket of winners and losers alike. Wednesday at the Red Onion was equally rowdy, and Friday’s finals poolside at the Sky were predictably rambunctious.
Partying aside, every day testers skied from bell to bell on as many different models as they could. On each ride up, they entered their comments and ratings via our mobile website. In eight days, our testers powered through 248 pairs of skis, and by the following Sunday, they were wiped out, as evidenced in the gallery above.
We’d like to give thanks to our sponsors one more time – Booster Strap, Prêt Helmets, Aspen Brewing Company, Sky Hotel/39 Degrees, RESQWATER, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Aspen/Snowmass and SNOCRU. This chaos would be dull without you.
