Keystone Resort invites endurance junkies to test their stamina in the 36 Hours of Keystone. Grab up to 4 worthy teammates and enter the challenge. There will be a lot happening on and off the hill, including skiing, live music, and a new Guitar Hero contest. No matter why you attend, there should be enough going on to entertain your ADD for a day and a half. Lifts will be open for 36 hours, and Keystone Resort will be doing its best to keep visitors from sleeping.
Who:
Anybody who thinks they’ve got the grit to ski or ride for 36 hours straight. Bribe your most competent friends to join your team of 2-4 people.
What:
36 Hours of Skiing: Team Challenge
Teams of 2-4 contestants must complete one run each hour for 36 hours straight. Teams will be issued an official credential that they must have punched each hour at the bottom of River Run Gondola. This isn’t a contest for the most runs, only a challenge that allows successful teams to enter a drawing for some serious cash prizes.
First prize takes home $3600, second wins $1800 and third place wins $900. Entry fees include either one or two nights lodging in River Run condo’s and range from $265 to $705 per team.
36 Hours of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
The opportunity has arrived to put your long hours shredding on a plastic guitar to practical use by entering a contest to win a real guitar. New this year, visit the tent set up in River Run Village where five gaming stations will be located. Grand prize will go to the highest score recorded during the event. Winner of the Top Score Challenge earns a special edition Guitar Hero Gibson Guitar as well as a 47” Westinghouse LCD TV, Xbox 360, Activation’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and two tickets to the 36 Hours of Music VIP Party. If you don’t win the Grand Prize, a raffle will include an Xbox 360, PS3, and Activation’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
36 Hours of Music
The Green Light in River Run village will host close to 36 hours of free live music. The line-up of Colorado bands offers a lot of variety, including funk, rock, punk, hip-hop, reggae, and alternative. Each band is given an hour and a half. The event will conclude with the 36 Hours VIP Party, VIP headliner is yet to be announced. For more details, log on to Keystone.snow.com/keystone36.music.asp.
