Candide Thovex has been at the forefront of freeskiing since it’s inception and his movie, Few Words, shows why. More of a documentary than “normal” perennial ski flick, the movie catalogues Candide’s career in freeskiing. From the early mogul days under the tutelage of Edgar Grospiron, to Chad’s Gap, to X Games, to Superpark, to his injuries, to Kandide Camera and beyond. Director Matt Pain weaves historical footage, interviews and a lifetime’s worth of ski footage (including the past two unseen seasons) into a beautiful cinematic package. Candide should be revered for what he’s accomplished and respected for what he’s still accomplishing today. Everyone should watch this film. Everyone.
