2012 Ski Movie Reviews: Poor Boyz Productions – WE: A Collection of Individuals

The changing face of Poor Boyz movies through the years has more to do with changing athletes than it does with reinventing their filmmaking style. The great thing about this is that you always have the “hot young thangs” in skiing—this year it’s Karl Fostvedt—mixed in with the athletes who have a lasting legacy—this year’s mind blowing Pep Fujas segment may be his best since Session 1242. Start with a fast paced park segment, hit a high mark in the middle with Dane Tudor’s turn as a candidate for all-around skier of the year, and close it out with Sean Pettit’s timeless ending segment and you have a formula that doesn’t need to change. The overall idea of WE is cemented with Kids and Legs of Steel “friends” seggies and the inclusion of the Stept guys—Sean J, Clayton and Cam. The diversity of the movie is matched by the high level of skiing and production, and it all makes for as good a movie as you will see this year.
