Breckenridge, where dreams come true.
The 2011 Freeskier Park Ski Test has officially begun, putting a couple sunny days at Breckenridge, CO in the books. Joining our staff in the heart of Summit County is a cadre of skilled and dedicated park skiers, to jump, flip, grind, air and generally rip next year's crop of park skis.
With two days (sunny, yet gusty) under our belt, that leaves three more days to rip through Breckenridge's Park Lane and Freeway Terrain Parks. The forecast doesn't look as gloriously sunny as Monday and Tuesday were, but nonetheless, the skis will be put to the test, measured for all their worth and rated accordingly.
The past two days saw park mainstays like Ben Moxham, Grant Savidge, Stephen Smith, Andrew Hathaway, Will Berman, Charlie Lasser, Kolby Ward and Josh Bishop (to name a few) testing the various flex patterns, swing weights and overall park aptitude of some sticks, with more companies adding models each day. As the week progresses, we'll be rolling out more photos and ski preview videos (as well as general recap videos), so stay tuned. If park skiing is your thing, then you'll want to see what's going down in Breck this week. And where does all this park ski science end up? Why the 2012 Freeskier Buyer's Guide, on newsstands September 1. So keep your eyes peeled for that.
