Russ Henshaw wins 2012 OHWDU People's Choice; see his winning trick

Russ Henshaw has been voted the 2012 Toyota One Hit Wonder Down Under (OHWDU) People’s Choice champion, earning him a double crown, as Russ also won the big air event in September. Russ’ triple cork 1440 evidently captured the hearts of viewers who cast votes online; Russ’ People’s Choice victory earns him an additional $5,000.

One lucky voter, Alana from the Illawarra, NSW, also walks away a winner. Alana will receive the “Ultimate Winter Prize,” including Jetstar flights for two to Japan, accommodations at the luxurious Phoenix Hotel in Hakuba, brand new skis or snowboard from Salomon, head-to-toe Mons Royale merino first layer clothing and a new GoCam waterproof, wearable HD camera. ‘Tis one heck of a luxury, powder-filled adventure worth more than $10,000.

*The People’s Choice big air tricks were filmed over the biggest jump ever seen in Australia at Thredbo Alpine Resort, and were self-selected by each athlete as the trick they felt would impress the online public audience the most.
