With 5,620 feet of vertical, 3,121 acres of skiable terrain and 400 inches of average annual snowfall, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, in British Columbia, Canada, is a certified world-class ski area. Unlike most top-name resorts, though, The ‘Stoke lacks the sweeping crowds. And when you consider the skiing possibilities outside of the resort boundaries, the terrain is pretty much limitless. We caught up with hometown skier Izzy Lynch to get the lowdown on where to ski, eat and stay in her favorite place on Earth.

Best place to catch the sunset on the mountain: Take a little hike out to Montana Ridge and bask in the late day light as the sun goes down over the Monashees.

Best inbounds line: If you can hit it first, Hot Dog it is an exciting little straighline with the perfect run out for big open turns into North Bowl.

Best out-of-bounds line: Brown Shorts is a classic shot that is easy to access from the resort. It is always fun to ski it first thing in the morning and then look back up at your tracks when you are back on the resort shredding later in the day.

Best groomer run: Wooly Bully has the best rollers! So much fun for getting air and doing high speed turns on your way down at the end of the day.

Best lift to lap on a powder day:
If there is powder to the valley, laps on the Revelation Gondola are amazing and will definitely get your legs burning.

Best glades: Every time I hit Stihl Life Glades I find new lines and hidden pockets of pow.

Best place to scare yourself: Dropping off Mackenzie Peak into Mac Daddy Face is a good one for getting your heart going. There are so many different lines and you can choose your own adventure depending on how brave you are feeling that day.

Best local coffee shop: DOSE serves up the best coffee and hugs.

Best breakfast spot at the mountain: La Baguette. The BLT with an egg is the best (and tastiest) bang for your buck in town.

Best lunch spot at the mountain: La Baguette, everything on the menu is delicious. I usually get some of their banana bread to throw in my pockets on my way up the Gondola in the morning, and if I am extra hungry stop of a bowl of soup on the way down.

Best apres spot at the mountain: The Rockford patio in the sunshine is a great place for an apres beer and yam fries.

Best nightlife spot: Monashee Distillery serves up amazing cocktails in a cozy atmosphere, for dancing and the occasional live band Traverse is the place to go.

Best hotel to splurge and feel fancy at: Sutton Place for the resort, or if you want to stay in town the Explorers Society is a funky boutique hotel with a rooftop patio and amazing cocktail bar.

Best ski shop: Valhalla Pure Outfitters.

Best place to feel like a local: Hit up any of the coffee shops at 7a.m. and you’ll run into local ski touring crews meeting up to head out for the day.

Best off-hill activity: A yoga class at Balu Yoga, or find a spot by a local’s fireplace to relax, stretch and plan your next day!
