An email from Icelantic Skis popped into my inbox this morning with the subject line “Limited Edition Icelantic X Jerry Garcia Nomads.” Naturally, I was quick to click the link, being a fan of the legendary band myself. Turns out, the Denver, Colorado-based ski brand is producing a short run of Jerry Garcia collaboration skis featuring topsheet artwork from “Facets 1,” Garcia’s 1986 series of airbrush paintings. According to the email, Facets 1 was “an experimental journey with stencils used to create crystal-like patterns with a variety of colors to produce a three-dimensional appearance.” The graphics on these shred sticks are pleasing to the eye, to say the least. The Nomad was a FREESKIER Editors’ Pick in the 100-114 mm freestyle category of the 2015 Buyer’s Guide—it’s a damn fine ski for all-mountain enthusiasts.
So, if you’re a fan of the Grateful Dead and a rippin’ skier, boogie down to the track below and click this link to get your hands on a damn fine (and beautiful) pair of planks.
