Buyer’s Guide preview: FREESKIER tests next year’s outerwear at Jones Pass, Colorado

We did our snow dances. We brought our powder skis. And we zipped into the best outerwear kits set to be featured in the annual Buyer’s Guide. Winter stuck around last week as FREESKIER hosted its fourth annual Outerwear Test at Jones Pass, Colorado, and the snow followed us deep into the mountains where we topped out over 12,000 feet, skied untouched backcountry lines and put next year’s apparel to the test in the high alpine.

Escorted into the woods via snowcat by Jones Pass Guides, our tight-knit crew of gear-savvy testers donned the most stylish, functional kits set to hit store shelves in the fall. With 10 brands in the lineup and 20 kits to test, we took notes on the fit, form and feel of each jacket/pant combination. And, of course, that meant skiing—lots of skiing.

Keep scrolling to get a glimpse at next year’s kits and a behind the scenes look at the testing process, and be sure to subscribe now to see which will rise above the rest and make it into the annual FREESKIER Buyer’s Guide.
