What’s better than getting new gear for ski season? Getting to ski for free with the purchase of that new gear! As part of Helly Hansen’s new Ski Free initiative, the brand is offering a free lift ticket to one of 50 participating ski resorts around the world with the purchase of a jacket or pants from the brand’s latest ski collection.

Born out of a necessity to develop workwear that could withstand harsh Norwegian winters at sea, Helly Hansen has been a leader in the outerwear industry since Captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife, Maren Margarethe, began waterproofing coarse linen with linseed oil in the late 1800s. In the century-plus since the brand’s inception, Helly Hansen has delivered innovation-after-innovation, and has established itself as one of the premium sportswear brands for sailors and skiers, alike, due to the brand’s notoriously warm and waterproof gear. Helly Hansen’s latest ski collection of jackets and pants highlights the brand’s dedication to functional practicality and, now, each piece from the collection comes with a special hangtag that includes a free day of skiing at a resort of your choice.

At each of the 50 participating ski resorts across Europe and North America, including Mammoth Mountain in California, Chamonix Mont Blanc in France and Fernie Alpine Resort in Canada, shoppers have the chance to get a free day of skiing or a buy-one-get-one offer with the hangtag attached to the Ski Free-eligible item. Once you’ve purchased your gear and decided on which participating resort to visit, all you have to do is validate your hangtag and get your ski bag packed. Below, we’ve included a few of our favorite pieces from Helly’s new collection to start the process—all you have to do now is pick your piece, choose your ski area and hit the hill.

Helly Hansen’s Ski Free Collection:

Ullr Chugach Infinity Powder Suit

Built with LIFA Infinity Pro technology, the Ullr Chugach Infinity Powder Suit is every powder-hound’s dream one-piece ski suit for its incredible waterproofness while also being extremely breathable for steep ascents. The relaxed fit will never cut you off from your next big move and a plethora of pockets provide safe-keeping for all of your essentials. Whether you’re stepping out of a steel bird or ascending to your favorite hike-to zone off the chair, the Ullr Chugach Infinity Powder Suit has you covered.

Elevation Infinity 2.0 Jacket

Helly Hansen’s award-winning Elevation Jacket is back and better than ever thanks to the addition of the brand’s LIFA Infinity Pro technology—an environmentally responsible waterproofing construction that doesn’t involve harmful chemicals and has an everlasting DWR without a coating—and design updates requested by the pros. The Elevation Infinity 2.0 Jacket now features horizontal pockets for quick and easy glove stashing, backpack-compatible pocket placement and an updated hood design for premium mobility and visibility.

Elevation Infinity Shell 2.0 Pant

Responsibility is the name of the game with Helly Hansen’s new LIFA Infinity Pro technology and for the first time it’s featured in ski pants with this year’s Elevation Infinity Shell 2.0 ski pants. Boasting premium waterproofing and breathability, there are no winter conditions these pants can’t handle. As requested by the professionals who live and work in these pants all season long, the Elevation Infinity Shell 2.0 pants feature an extra large, adjustable waist, a reinforced transceiver pocket and an ultra-durable hem for longevity.

Women’s Powderqueen Infinity Jacket

Helly Hansen’s Powderqueen Jacket has been a popular choice for years and, now, the premium women’s ski jacket is packed with the brand’s proprietary LIFA Infinity technology for environmentally friendly waterproofing and breathability. Lightweight Primaloft Black Eco insulation keeps this coat cozy on the inside, no matter how harsh the conditions are outside, and the brand’s H2FLOW ventilation system is smart enough to know whether to release or retain heat based on your needs.

Women’s Elevation Infinity Shell Bib

Helly Hansen is a firm believer that any good thing can be made better and the brand has done that such thing with its Women’s Elevation Infinity Shell Bib. Now featuring LIFA Infinity Pro Technology, these powder-centric bibs are even more hard-wearing and high-performing than before thanks to a chemical-free waterproof breathable construction and removing the DWR coating with a naturally permanent water repellency from the LIFA face fabric. Adjustable suspenders, stretchy snow gaiters, back thigh and side vent zips that extend to the top of the bib to function as a drop seat when nature calls all account for the bib’s comfort and gear pockets with a beacon loop to provide the functionality we all need out there.
