The next-gen M7 Mantra sets a new benchmark for stability and precision. With this latest incarnation from the storied Mantra family, Völkl created a fall line-oriented, directional beast that wants to be driven hard while bringing just the right amount of maneuverability to the table. The M7 provides a supremely stable ride in varied snow conditions, blasting through chunder, dicing through chop and slicing up icy groomers. The more you push it, the more you’ll appreciate how they steamroll whatever stands in your way. It’s more than just a frontside blaster—its maneuverability is apparent whether ducking into the trees or taking the express route through the bumps.
The M7 Mantra takes advantage of Völkl’s new 4 Radius Drive design, a new way to vary the turn radius, combining easy handling with rock-solid stability. This innovation takes the proven 3D Radius Sidecut to another level by adding a fourth turn radius in the ski for even more versatility in shape and size of arcs. Additionally, a revised Titanal frame gives the skis just the right amount of stiffness, and the redesigned, tailored carbon tip, in conjunction with the tighter tip radius (4 Radius Drive), provides a more immediate response to the skier’s initial edge movement. This results inmaximum agility, precision and more intuitive turn initiation than the M6.
Although it’s a bit narrow to be considered a powder ski, the M7 Mantra can easily handle a few inches of fresh snow, thanks to its wider-than-average tip that provides increased flotation. But it’s in the gnarly leftovers and chunder where these skis hit it big. The hefty feel is matched with the perfect amount of tip flex to create a damp, planted ride that allows you to charge through tracked-out snow with unwavering confidence.
Let’s face it: Most days on the mountain are far from perfect, and these skis are built to dominate in less-than-ideal conditions. From carving up the groomers to slashing through those reliable side stashes between storms, the M7 Mantra seamlessly transitions from on-piste to off-piste, delivering an exhilarating ride every time. As a versatile all-mountain ski with a 96-mm waist, it’s a go-to choice for those gritty days when the corduroy isn’t pristine, and the powder isn’t waist-deep.
