Sea 116
Scott Sports
$800.00
The engineers at Scott have entirely redesigned their freeride presence for the 2024-25 season. The new Sea lineup complements the successful Pure line with a freestyle-focused, big mountain arsenal that retains the dependability and precision that Scott skis are known for while venturing into the world of big airs and floaty backflips. This 116-mm underfoot monster features a poplar core with a strip of Titanal running underfoot for added reinforcement. From bottomless powder to massive stomps, the Sea 116 is ready to conquer the highest peaks and deepest snow.
The robust chassis sports a directional shape, with an early-rise tip rocker for maximum flotation and a touch of tail rocker to support maneuverability without sacrificing control in the toe-curling alpine. Scott also utilizes 3D SpinTech in the tip and tail for supreme float and surfability. For such a wide ski, it slides in and out of turns exceptionally well. It excels on technical descents, balancing the ability to make quick hop turns and the reliability to match—all the way through to the runout. That said, this ski is truly at its happiest when catching air and stomping landings. As one of our testers put it, “It’s an ultimate powder day machine, providing stability on big landings and the confidence that comes with knowing you have that. This ski is the essence of the bigger, the better.”
This ski is not for the meek. It thrives in expert territory and is built for the advanced skier who wants to hunt powder, dissect technical descents and send everything in sight with freestyle flair.
