Volkl Shiro Ski – 2014
While it’s marketed as a powder freeride ski, the Shiro can be taken virtually anywhere on the mountain, both in and out of the resort. At 119 mm underfoot with a full rocker, there’s no question why it scored high in the float category. But high scores in the carving and stability categories also contribute heavily and make this ski a force to be reckoned with. “Carves, schmears, grips, and rips!” said a tester. “This ski does it all.” There was little to complain about amongst the testers.
