LIBERTY ORIGIN 106 REVIEW — 2017

The foundation of the Origin 106 is a combination of ultra-strong, lightweight bamboo and midweight, responsive poplar wood. Liberty then implements carbon fiber into the construction for a ski that’s strong, reactive and poppy with efficient weight savings. “It had a really low swing weight and great pop off rollers,” one tester noted, adding, “It was pleasantly damp, too. A great everyday, western ski.” Its 106-mm waist provides a bit of girth for pow days but certainly isn’t too beefy for the times spent cruising around the frontside. If you’re equally at home getting horizontal on groomers and rolling in the deep, this ski’s for you.
