Kästle FX 104 Ski
Kästle’s FX series was developed with Chris Davenport, so it’s apt that one tester said the FX 104 is “not for wussies!” A powerhouse of a ski, the FX 104 features traditional camber, sandwich construction and a woodcore made up of ash, silver fir and poplar. That means the 104 is stable, powerful and can rail a turn yet suffers slightly in the playfulness department. Like all Kästle skis, the FX 104 has Hollowtech Technology (oval discs of material removed from the tip and tail) that reduces the weight in the shovel while simultaneously decreasing vibration. “This ski rips like a samurai sword,” a tester commented.
