ICELANTIC PIONEER 96 REVIEW — 2017
Icelantic’s Pioneer 96 was awarded a score of 9.78 in the versatility category by our battalion of talented testers. Indeed, it’s meant to excel all over the resort. A lightweight yet strong poplar core combines with tip and tail rocker for playfulness and maneuverability, traditional camber underfoot ups the stability and a tapered shape prevents any edge catching. The construction garnered an abundance of positive tester comments such as, “Very lively, great for carving and working through crud.” In reference to the ski’s stability, one tester said it was, “plenty straightlineable.” Merriam-Webster might not agree with that, but we sure do.
