FISCHER RANGER 122 REVIEW — 2017
Fischer has rebranded the behemoth Big Stix 122 for 2016-17 and placed it into the award-winning Ranger lineup. New name: Yes. Changed intentions: No. The Ranger 122 is designed to tackle steep, fall-line terrain and deep, orgasmic powder. Its wide build coupled with tip and tail rocker keeps ’er afloat in the aforementioned deep snow. A meticulously milled beech wood core helps reduce weight while providing a balanced flex, too. Our testers noticed exceptional nimbleness, citing “amazing maneuverability for such a big ski” and “confidently navigated the Black Mamba chute from hop turn to hop turn.”
