Eira Village Parka and Performance Pant Review

This combo is made up of two of Eira’s premier, 20K/20K outerwear pieces. Behind the subdued styling of the Village Parka are fully taped seams and 100 grams of recycled Thinsulate insulation to keep you warm.  The hand pockets have velcro top entry as well as zippered side entry and the two zips on the chest also lead to roomy pockets. On the inside is a small velcro chest pocket and a particularly nice audio pocket that includes a touchscreen-friendly window so you don’t have to pull your device out to control it. A fleece-lined chin and elastic powder skirt round out the features on the parka.

The Performance pant is a relatively simple, shell piece with jean-style pockets around the top and two cargo pockets, all of which have taped zips. The waistband is adjustable and above the zippered fly you’ll find two metal buttons as well as velcro with a metal clip in the middle. Putting the clip in the middle of the velcro is a love/hate thing depending on who you ask, but nonetheless, your pants won’t be falling down on you. The inner thighs have mesh-backed vents and down below you’ll find reinforced cuffs that are expandable via zipper.

Eira did a great job of integrating technical qualities with a new-school look and not adding a billion pockets.
