This deceptively sleek pack is great for backcountry travelers who want the ability to carry all they need, without feeling like they have a monkey on their back. Hidden underneath the main compartment zipper is a roll-top enclosure that keeps moisture at bay and also allows you to expand the pack (hence the “+”) if you want to stuff your shell and goggles in there on the skin track. If you want to get into the main compartment mid-hike, a zippered back panel grants you access without having to fuss with your skis, which can be attached in an A-frame or diagonal configuration. The layout includes an accessory pocket up top, as well as another on the front, and a dedicated tool pocket in between. The pack is hydration-compatible, includes a mesh helmet sling and has the comfortable, ergonomic fit that Deuter is known for.
