Built with a silky smooth rocker profile, the all-new Black Diamond Impulse 112 is a an all-around pow-surfing machine with a knack for the backcountry. Our testers called this the most fun ski BD has ever built. With a beefy construction (that includes a notch for tail clips) Black Diamond seems to be riffing on its ski mountaineering roots but certainly moving in a freeride direction. The Impulse 112 carries a little more weight than the carbon backcountry missiles that preceded it, but that’s because Black Diamond made it to surf and trawl the deeps. The ski is just as at home in the resort, where the powerful construction can mow down chop and push through heavier spring snow. If you have legs of steel like pro rider Parkin Costain, take the Impulse 112 as deep as you’d like.
