If you had no desire to invest in a snowmobile, hide your check book—after watching this film, you will certainly be inclined to. All-mountain ripper Amie Engerbretson secured the tools and knowledge this past year to saddle up and head out into the mountains on a new form of transportation; the “snow pony” AKA a beastly Ski-Doo snowmobile.
With the help of Todd Ligare, Lexi Dupont, Mark Howard, McKenna Peterson and friends, Amie was able to tame the mechanical stallion, scoring countless waist-deep lines from Wyoming to Revelstoke, and even in Amie’s home mountains of around Tahoe. Lucky for us, the talented filmers at Teton Gravity Research were able to capture the experience throughout the winter.
While it can take some hearty investment, a sled can offer access to terrain that many only dream about and see in the movies. Some skiers understandably prefer the ol’ fashion way of strapping on the skins and heading for hills, but ripping around with your friends on a Ski-Doo is certainly a blast and it can also save tons of much needed strength and energy, every bit of which is needed when traveling into the mountains in search of staggering lines.
