Here and Now: Mother Nature over-delivers in northern Montana

After shooting skiing full time for over 20 years, it’s almost a crime that this was my first ski trip to Montana. I was totally blown away with the amount of terrain that Whitefish and the surrounding area offers. It certainly lived up to its former name of Big Mountain. Not only was the amount of skiable terrain amazing, but the snow quality was also some of the lightest, most blower powder I have skied in North America. It also didn’t hurt that the ski area reported four inches of new on top, when it was more like 40, as you can see in the images, below.
