With news of early season snowfall in Colorado’s High Country and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), Montana was feeling a little left out of the summer snow party.

Over the weekend, the season’s first winter weather advisories were issued by the National Weather Service for parts of the Northern Rockies of Montana and Wyoming, with reports of four inches of snow possible in regions above 9,000 feet in elevation. The wintry conditions were brought on by a cold front and dip in the jetstream. The front helped to clear out the persistent smoke in the air caused by rampant wildfires throughout the western United States and western Canada, making it a welcomed end of summer storm by Montana residents.

Let the winter stoke begin! Old Man Winter paid us a welcomed visit. #bigskyresort
