It’s no secret that a large portion of mountain towns with abundant ski resorts cater to a certain luxury clientele. Spending just a few minutes in towns like Aspen, Breckenridge, Telluride, Jackson Hole, Park City, Whistler, Zermatt or St. Moritz will prove that. Besides the fur coats, flashy cars and exquisite cuisine pervading these towns, giant mansions are tucked away in the hills complete with everything a skier needs to channel their inner celebrity. They’ll find 20-person hot tubs, built-in movie theaters, home gyms, lavish kitchens, king-sized beds and more.

While the majority of you readers failed to score that recent Powerball payday, there are still ways to wrangle the funds to make your celebrity-lodging dream a reality. Sell a kidney (or both), put your car up for sale, operate a Ponzi scheme like Bernie Madoff, ask grandma for some extra dough or rally your ski bum buddies and pool your collective money. To help you out once you’ve ponied up enough cash,ho we’ve rounded up five of the planet’s swankiest luxury ski vacation rentals. The price tags may be high, but as the wise Barry Badrinath once said, “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.”
